    Hello!
    I have a 1080P SBS mkv file, with a resolution of 3840*1080.
I have that file in an external USB hard drive, connected with my smart tv.
Whenever I try to play that file with my TV I get the error that the resolution 3840*1080 is not supported.
My TV is Active 3D Full HD. So why can't I play the movie?
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Because the resolution is TOO BIG for your TV's decoders to handle. Simple as that. Most hardware decoders have similar HD limitations (usu. due to economizing).

Resize to 1920x1080 (squeezed, HalfSbS). Try again.

Thank you Scott for the quick answer!
Half SBS should do the trick, but since I have an active 3D TV I would like to watch in FULL HD (and not half the resolution).
So there is no way to play a Full HD (1920*1080 for both eyes) 3D movie with the internal TV media player? I mean with a MKV file.

Try FullTaB (aka 1980x2160). Those dimensions might still be within the decoders' limitations (depends on which profile/levels are supported). Or (it's a long shot, but) try a Dual-stream muxed MKV.

Ok, this one seems to be 1980*2160 ( The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey 3D Full-OU Bluray 1080p DTS x264-Phoenix )
I will give it a try.

But where will I find a Dual-stream muxed MKV????
