I have to convert all video files that I download to MP4 if I want to watch them on my DVD player which has a USB port.
As of recently, after 20+ minutes of watching the video file, the video stops playing and there is a crackling sound, the only way to solve is by turning off the DVD player. Any reason what is happening ?

Did this problem begin with recent conversions? Do old downloads play properly? How do they play on your computer?

I don't have any old downloads, they are all recent, but from past experiences, beyond six months ago, I never was experiencing this problem; but it doesn't always happen either.

So either something has gone wrong with your conversions, or your DVD player is broken/overheating. Try playing your conversions on another machine to rule out the first cause.

I don't have another machine to test. You suspect possible the machine is overheating, simply by playing a USB key ? Last edited by PowerFalcon; 23rd Jun 2015 at 21:14.
