    Hello,

I'm using handbrake to get my large premiere export .mov down to a usable file size .mp4 for HD on vimeo.

I have .mov that is 03:57 long. When I choose this as my "source" in HandBrake it immediately reads it as 18:49 long. When I process the video there is almost 15 minutes of "black" on the end of the video.

I've attempted to change duration by choosing to export a frame range. Next to this section is states the proper, shorter, duration but the exported video remains much longer at 18:49.

Can anyone shine some light on what may be causing HB to read the duration of a 3:57 video as 18:49? I really appreciate your help!

    I'm using HandBrake 0.10.2 x86_64.

    thanks,

    Jason

SCREENSHOT: The attached screenshot shows the 'info' screen for the original .mov on the right. On the left the HandBrake screen with the upper right corner reading the duration at 18m49s. Also, it shows the "frame" range that should fix the issue. Exports are still 18:49.

At 20Mb/s, why not simply transcode it with Media Encoder?

  3. Not sure why you're fussing with handbrake in this situation. You can output a vimeo compatible file directly from PPro.

If you want to get fancy, drag your sequence from Premiere's project window directly into Adobe Media Encoder. There you have some decent vimeo presets which you can tweak to your heart's content, and it will even upload directly if you tell it your vimeo credentials.

Thanks newpball. Media Encoder has been crashing when I attempt to export. I've switched to Handbrake to avoid this.

    Thanks smrpix,

I have an old version of premiere (CS3) and am sorta self taught in this world so I appreciate the feedback. I haven't had the best luck with Adobe Media Encoder but I'll give it another shot.

The duration is still odd to me since the .mov I'm importing to Handbrake is under 4 mintues, there is no 15mins of blank in that file.... curious.

Either way, I appreciate your help!
