Even if you "care" about shutter speed, with many/most consumer cameras, there is NOTHING you can do about changing or optimizing it as it is usually fixed (and based on some fraction/multiple of the framerate). Talk about not knowing your audience...

That's kind of the point of a poll to understand where people are coming from, what their opinions are.

You should already know where people are coming from by looking at this:
    What is this site about?
This site will help you to make your own DVD, Blu-ray, AVI, MKV, MP4 etc that can be played on your standalone DVD Player, Blu-ray Player, Media Center or portable device from video sources like DVD, Video, TV, DV, AVCHD or downloaded movie clips like AVI, MKV, MP4, WMV, Flash, etc.
    on the title page.

If they fall under the hobbyist/consumer group, whether they understand or value SS is immaterial as they can't do anything about it.
If they are in a more prosumer/indie/professional group, they (hopefully) already value & use SS to their advantage.

If you are trying to see what the proportion of the former & latter groups are on this site, good luck with that, as you have already abused the poll feature and now people who's input you ought to be getting won't offer their opinion, so you will always get a skewed & flawed poll, extending their skewed & flawed reputation.

I disagree with that, many hobbyists use DSLRs to shoot video and even consumer cameras have shutter speed options perhaps not all but some certainly do.

As you perhaps inferred this poll was created in response to a topic from a member who wanted an informed answer about frame rates. The, and I paraphrase, "just use 60p the rest is crap" kind of sentiment expressed by the answers was rather shocking to me.

It is not black and white, fps is just one variable, others are shutter speed, focal distance, type of lens, type of camera, creative intention etc, all those factors are important as well.

I think you are, likely unintentionally, insulting the hobbyists who follow this forum, people who do care about shutter speed, dof, creative intent, things like that. And even if some don't know about it they likely would like to learn. People can learn new things you know! Do you perhaps think it is wrong to bring up new things for people that will help them making better videos? They are not idiots who only can press the record button and do neither know and nor have the inclination to know anything more. At least that is not my assumption, I assume it is neither yours.

Many time (but not always) I shoot in manual mode, so yes I care about shutter speed and aperture. A properly exposed image/video is always a good thing.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........

No, you are likely intentionally assuming I am insulting the hobbyists, which I am not, and you would know that if you had ever bothered to look at the exhaustive and voluminous history of my past helpful posts.
If they have gotten to the level of having a DSLR, they will (or should) simply belong to that 2nd group.
For someone who consistently is so vocal about being rigid with some features of videography, you now take the other tack and defend equivocating based on circumstances. Which one is it? Or is discernment of the intricacies of video's variables only pertinent with topics that you champion? Do you perhaps think it is wrong to bring up things for people that will help them make videos that meet their needs, when those needs don't match your own?
