  4. You still seem to be missing the point......

    Does anyone post in threads these days telling people not to convert audio to MP3 or AAC because you lose quality you can't hear, or does everyone take it as read the MP3 is the "convenience" copy and the CD sits on a shelf where a magical transformation takes place and not only is it still the original copy, it also becomes the backup copy?

    Maybe it'll take a video codec that'll re-encode a 1080p movie to a 50MB file size with no visible quality loss before everyone's caught up and applies the same common sense to video, but for me the original discs have always just sat on a shelf, compensating for their lack of use by doubling as 100% quality backups. Easy......
