  1. just got a S5 and i read it has hdmi, i need a special cable it seems, but can i play e.g. a dvd image file then on my s5?

    I assume you are asking about a Samsung Galaxy 5 smartphone? If so you would need a micro USB to HDMI adapter similar to this:

    Whether you can play a DVD image video depends on if you have that App on the phone and enough memory space on your micro SD card.
    I would suspect you would have better luck playing back a Divx, or MKV or similar format file.

    You could convert a DVD to one of those formats with a program like VidCoder or similar.

    i made some isos of a dvd box i bought last month. (can attach pics cause people always think otherwise...). ripped the discs as isos and wanted to watch them on laptop (no probs) and/or smartphone s5. i dunno how i could convert the iso to e.g. MP4 :/
