When trying to "Save WAV" in a DivX AVI, get an error message that says the requested compression format is not compatible with the input file.

The source file's audio codec is: Unknown (tag 2000) and it has 5 channel stereo.

I selected full processing mode, then PCM (no compression)... wouldn't work.

    Any clues????

I obviously has something to do with the source AVI, because I just successfully extracted the audio from a different AVI file which listed the audio as MPEG Layer-3 with 2 channel stereo.

Not sure why VirtualDub has this problem, but... I was able to convert the AVI to one with uncompressed audio using AVI Audio Decompressor Ver 1.4. Then I could extract the audio with VirtualDub.
