  1. For a movie clip made on 26th May 2015 at 09:16:12 (UTC), i.e. 2015-05-26 09:16:12, MediaInfo reports 2003-07-11 14:08:33.

    Made with what? It might just set that date for all videos.

    Maybe you never properly reset the clock/calendar in the cam?

    Maybe some app/device/process that uploaded/converted it also reset the stamp? (what's the provenance...)

  4. Thanks both. It was made with the Polaroid CUBE and I reckon you're right about the cause - it's set some sort of default date. (A strange one, about 10 years before I bought it!) The device itself has no controls apart from one button but there may be a software setting I've missed.

    A test I should have done before posting: I tried a video clip from my Canon Ixus 220 HS and MediaInfo reported its date correctly.

    Basically you connect via USB to the computer and launch the "Your Settings Application". In the app you can change the light frequency, timestamp, cycle recording, date & time, and buzzer volume.
