Laptop only connects at 11Mbps

I just bought an elitebook 2560P at http://www.laptop-kopen.nl/hp-elitebook-2560p but it can only connect at 11Mbps it has to go to 300mbps my router is also 300 mbps?

Also, anything on the local network that limits its throughput may cause the upper limit to be the lowest device limit.

Check lan module against the hp specs

Also confusion as to the difference between Mbps vs mbps ... B = bytes, b = bits

300 mbps = 37.5mb/s

For clues to problems read this from toms hardware regarding same question

Probable router sets to B only (max speed specs is 11MBs).

Also check to see if you have any B devices on the network.

I removed the drivers from windows and did an clean install. Now it sees 2 networks 2.4ghz and 5ghz. At 5ghz it connects now at high speed. Download are 7 mb/sec now.

If you can't be consistent with your unit prefixes nobody can know what you're talking about.

In general, capitals refer to positive powers of 10, lower case for negative powers of 10: M=mega, m=milli. Use B for byte (8 bits), b for bit. Or just spell it out and and there will be no ambiguity: megabyte, megabit.
