  1. Hi, I'm trying to capture video from VHS with Pinnacle Moviebox hardware and Pinnacle Studio HD 15 software. Tre problem I have is that if I select Pal as video system, the software will not show any preview while capturing, while if I select Ntsc I will see the preview (with inverted lines because my VHS source and VHS player are PAL). I tried to reinstal driver and changing RCA cable, but is always the same.

If it is anything like my WinTV software, you can't just select PAL or NTSC from a drop-down box....you need to go through(although partially) a tuner setup. I have two tuners set up in WinTV, PAL and PAL60(for NTSC tapes through a PAL VHS machine) and I need to switch/disable/enable the correct tuner.

I have the option to select the video system (PAL, NTSC or SECAM), but if I select PAL (the right one for me), the preview will remain black, if I select NTSC (I don't need this), I see the pic, but obviously with NTSC distorsion.

The problem is why on PAL it remains black.

Repeating what you already said is not going to solve the problem.
I have the same option you are referring to but that does NOT solve the problem. Look into Tuner Setup.

I know they are different softwares but the TUNER portion is different from the initial setup choice.....usually.

Are you in a PAL country?
When you installed Pinnacle, did it ask you to choose a video system/country/region?

Hi, I'm in a Pal Country, but I don't remember if Pinnacle asked it to me.

By the way, the language of Pinnacle is Italian like me, so I think this is not the problem .

I also tried other software like Video Studio and it's always the same. I think it's something related to driver at this point. I reinstalled the ones on the disc and tried the ones on their site, but nothing change.

The Pinnacle support is almost 0.
