  1. Hello all,

As it says in the title, I am seeing the combing effect (as well as some stutter) on my Samsung UE40F6500 smart TV when playing a 1920x1080 50i h.264 (mp4 container) file, and only on this TV, plays perfectly on PC, on another (smaller) Samsung smart TV i own, as well as on a hardware media player (Lacie).

Taking into account the problem only occurs on the one specific TV, I am assuming there are no problems with the files itself.
So I was wondering if any of you may have experienced the same issue on Samsung TV's and possibly find a solution to this problem. I have been playing around with the TV's settings like ie. MPEG noise & digital noise filter, as well as update the TV's firmware to the latest version, but unfortunately, to no avail...

Are you sure it is actually an interlaced video?

H.264 in mp4 could be interlaced but it is highly unusual.

It is more likely the video was badly interlaced before transcoded or reencoded to H.264.

An mediainfoxp view will give us the information.

  3. I capture these files myself, the files are interlaced as is the source. They are the untouched files that come out of my hardware H.264 encoder and they play fine on any other device I own.
