When attempting to convert DivX to SVCD or DVD with the standard templates in TMPGEnc, I get no sound at all in the output file.

One Divx that I tried to convert has DivX Video and Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Audio.

Any ideas... this should be an easy one...

  2. I would suggest encoding only the video in TMPG and convert the audio seperate and then bring together with bbmpeg.
get your video encoded alone and it will give you an mpv or m1v file.
for the audio, Vdub and direct stream copy then save as wave. then use besweet to change audio from wav to mp2.

then get bbmpeg and it will easily bring the 2 together, or you could try and multiplex with TMPG.
go here for more on what I am talking about

I think I got it... I used VirtualDub to extract the audio, then used the resulting wav file along with the DIVX AVI to ouput MPEG2 using TMPGEnc's DVD(NTSC) template.. I tried a sample and it seems to have worked. I tried this once before and got really poor, choppy audio... but I think that I had extracted the audio to the wrong bitrate that time. I think I used 44100 and should have been using 48000.
