    Hi,

I'm very pleased to have finally found a free video converter after failing to find a 'free' converter that didn't require a subscription fee - wondershare does a a great MP4 to VOB -

But,the XviD4PSP 5 does seem to take hours (24!) to encode a file, and I have no idea what any of the features are meant to do, although I've guessed I need to convert it to a MPEG2 PAL file which is what most european dvd operate with.

The video has completed and saved in a temp folder Encoding video to: C:\Temp\0000.m2v
MPEG2 Q1.0 720x576 23.976fps (171603 frames) but the audio data is now being completed separately, slowly, Encoding audio to: C:\Temp\0000.ac3
    AC3 192kbps 2ch 16bit 48000khz

Can I ask if after it's completed whether I will be able to burn the MPEG2 file to a dvd, probably using wondershare, and if AC3 is an appropriate setting for the file?

  2. 24 hours?

You would (IMO) be better off with AVStoDVD if you want to make a DVD. You've got PAL resolution but not PAL framerate for the video. The AC3 audio is fine for DVD.
