  1. Encoded with tmpgenc and cce (not too sure about video settings) and both times the svcd has had jerky, stuttering video and audio.

The audio is fine until muxxed or encoded to the video. I can do a vcd but no Mpeg 2.

    CCE version 250.01.00
    No plugins
    dvd source

I read the guides and they said that if the Picture structure is frame based then check progressive frames but the source is interlaced???

    this is from bitrate viewer

    Pic. structure: Frame
    Field topfirst: Yes
    DCT type: Field
    Quantscale: Nonlinear
    Scan type: ZigZag
    Frame type: Interlaced

so which is it really progressive or interlaced (pal dvd source)?

that may be the cause, i don't know. but in tmpgenc i encoded interlace and non interlace, same result.

i have tried both field orders too...

driving me crazy so if anyone can help, then thanx. 8)

  2. well...i'm not too sure cuz i haven't dealth w/ PAL DVDs b4...but i believe that w/ PAL DVDs, u need to turn forced film off in dvd2avi. the interlaced video type u just mentioned in your post kinda tells you not to treat it as film...hence, forcing film would not be good idea...i'm sure other ppl can help u w/ pal settings in tmpgenc
