    I mean the resume function. MPC-HC only keep the resume point of the files inside recent files list. When a file is out of this list (because there are newer files) it plays from the beginning.

    Any idea?

  2. Did you try with Options - Player - Remember file position checkbox?

  3. The recent file list only holds (I think) 20 entries by default and the ability to remember file positions seems tied to it. I can't find a way to increase the recent files list via the GUI, and there's probably a registry equivalent of this I haven't looked for myself, but if you have the option to "store settings in ini file" checked and open the ini file MPC-HC creates in the directory it's installed in with Notepad (you may have to put MPC-HC in a location where it has write access), somewhere inside you'll find an entry for setting the maximum number of files the recent files list will hold:

    RecentFilesNumber=20

    Change it to something larger if you like. I thought a value of zero might mean unlimited, but it seems to mean zero. I'm not sure how carried away you can get before things would start to get messy (in terms of file opening speed) or if there's a maximum but you can definitely increase it beyond 20.

    I couldn't seem to find a way to untie the remembered files positions from the remember files list. I thought the entry "RememberPosForLongerThan=0" might do it, but alas, it seems to tell MPC-HC how far into a file it needs to be before it remembers the position. If that's what it does the maximum value seems to be 2147483647 but I'm not sure how to translate that into minutes and seconds.

    Anyway, bumping up the number of entries in the recent files list seems to be the only way to remember more positions, but if you discover another way please post back to let us know. Don't forget if you run more than one instance of MPC-HC they won't be aware of each others recent files, so if you open 10 files with one instance of MPC-HC while another instance is running, then close the first player, I think the recent files it adds to the list will be lost when you close the second player.

    Options - Advanced - RecentFilesNumber.

    Does Option - Player - History - Remember file position work?

  8. @hello_hello

    I have no idea as I primary use MPC-BE but I downloaded latest MPC-HC last week to try it out as I have problems with new madVR and D3D11 mode. Well, it was not a player problem for me.

    @stranno

    Glad it works.
