Does anyone know how to merge DTS(express) audio using MKVmerge. I'm able to rip out the DTS audio stream, but am getting an error when trying to use MKVmerge(6.3.0. You can't stop me). Will upgrading to mkvtoolnix-64bit-7.9.0 resolve this? I'm able to merge regular DTS audio, but not the express type.

    Thanks!

Try it and tell us? You can use the portable version of mkvtoolnix 7.9.0 so you can keep your 6.3.0 installed version...

You need at least the build 2015-04-03 of MKVtoolnix 7.8.0.

Also, thus far only the Arcsoft DLL (or some other payware) can decode DTS Express,
there is no free++open_source solution for that yet.

Whoa! Fast response! I'll try 7.9.0 and post back. I'm trying to use the audio from a 'picture-in-picture' overlay bonus. I was able to rip out the overlay video, and the DTS(express) audio, but MKVmerge won't merge them together. The merged video has no audio track. Hmmmm....could I play the video, record the audio via a PC recording program, then merge that with the ripped VLC file? Does MKVmerge allow WMA files? If it does, this may work...although there could be sync issues...eh, better than no audio at all!

Nope. You would have to use the MPC-BE standalone Matroska Muxer, or Haali's Matroska multiplexer.
Anyway, WMA is an abomination, and WMA in Matroska is a double-abomination

What type(s) of audio files does MKVmerge allow? Maybe I can record my DTS(express) audio via a recording program in a different format from WMA?
Or, convert the WMA audio file to a useable format?

    Why complicate things
LAV Audio can use the Arcsoft DLL, and any DirectShow-based media player can use LAV Audio ---
--- just make sure you have the version 1.1.0.8 of the file DTSDecoderdll.DLL.

As for MKVmerge, it supports AC3, DTS, DTS-HD (including Master Audio and Pure Lossless), AAC, MP2, MP3, Vorbis, Opus, FLAC, ALAC, MLP/TrueHD, TTA, WavPack, RealAudio, ......
