    What do you mean by lossless mkv?

    Uncompressed the video. The value for CRF = 0

  4. I don't think quick sync supports lossless H.264 encoding. Did you try with Handbrake GUI if it really works?

    You will need to use x264 for that. And if you need it to do fast use preset ultrafast or superfast.

    Nope, it doesn't work. I tried with VidCoder as it uses Handbrake.

    Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
    Format profile : High@L3

    I already tried using Handbrake GUI and Vidcoder. It worked by using quick sync but I need command for .bat~ I tried using Vidcoder too, but it always stop working for certain files

  6. Well, I cann't help you with command line as I always use GUIs. When I said that it doesn't work I meant that QS does not encode in lossless mode, even if I set RF to 0. It just encodes in regualar High profile.

  7. Even if you could encode lossless with QS you would gain nothing -- but your lossless files will be much bigger than your source files (unless they were uncompressed to start with). And most players (outside of a computer) cannot play lossless x264.

    <edit>
    Handbrake doesn't even allow lossless with x264. If you set RF=0 it will encode with RF=1.

    <edit again>
    Ah, if you set h.264 profile and level to auto it will produce true QP=0 lossless with x264. But not with QS.

    I am aware of the consequences, I just want to convert Hi10 video to normal 8 bit using handbrakeCLI and quicksync. There wont be an issue if the file is bigger cause I want to preserve the quality

    So you are converting a 10 bit video to 8 bit by preserving quality?

    10 bit to 8 bit to make it available for most of normal player so I dont mind if the size is bigger as JAGABO mention in the earlier post. Do you know how to do it?

    That's fine but it is ridiculous to provide a delivery codec with a lossless setting for a lossy video.

    And as other people commented as well it may not even work for some players.
