Bought a broken PS3 on Ebay because it was cheap. CECHG01. One of the old, fat NAND models. It was advertised as having no power. I had an extra PSU so I was hoping to get lucky.

Installed the working PSU and still no power. Changed the PSU cable and the power switch. Still, nothing. Not even a standby light. When I press the power button it beeps once, only the hard drive light flickers, the hard drive light stops and then the PS3 beeps rapidly three or four times and powers off completely.

I also installed a working hard drive. It made no difference.

Any chance this can be fixed or is the motherboard just dead?

P.S. I forgot to mention this is one of the models that has no board for the power and eject buttons. It is just built into the motherboard.
