Hi all,
I have a .wmv file that is 14 min long according to MediaInfo, but only will play the first 5 minutes regardless of what players I use. I have tried converting it to other formats using asfbin, Freemake, etc, but only the first 5 minutes get converted. Windows Movie Maker won't even open the file. What is wrong and how do I fix this? What software can I use to get the full 14 min?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Have you tried re-muxing/re-indexing it with WM utilities (WM File editor, WM Stream Editor, etc)? What does ASFView show?

Even with Mplayer and VLC
Windows Movie Maker won't even open the file. What is wrong and how do I fix this?
a) is the result of two (or more) other WMVs that were joined improperly,
b) went corrupted, or
c) both of the above
MAYBE it can fixed by remuxing through ffmpeg.
Another possibility: VirtualDub in its Direct Stream Copy mode, which will give you an AVI file though
(which can be remuxed to ASF again with ffmpeg itself, OR the ancient vidtoasf.exe, for example).
