    Hi!
Recently I had to re-install my operating system. And before that I had no problem with mkv files, mpc Star player played them smoothly.
But after this latest installation I can only hear the audio playing same if I play it on windows media player. Only in divX-player is where both video and audio comes on together.
But I prefer my MPC Star player and want to fix this problem, please can any one help.
I have xvid, ffdshow, quicktime, all the usual codecs installed.
Any help will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks & T.C.

    Try install the lavfilters.

But Mpcstar has no been updated since 2011. Maybe time to try mpchc or mpcbe.

I know but days ago when I was using my old OS it worked perfectly. Now that I had to re-install the same OS Windows 7 x64 again and installed the same old MPC Star 5.4 It has only stopped playing the video of the .mkv files as for the audio, It's playing perfectly. Why is this happening.

I am Uploading Two Media Info files.

    1. URD.txt - Is that .mkv file which is not being played with video.

    2. RBL.txt - Is another .mkv file which is playing O.K.

Hope this will help to understand why MPC Star 5.4 plays one mkv file and not the other.

For some reason, the Matroska demultiplexer used by MPCStar is not connecting to the (required) video decoding filter.
    Code:
    Video
    ID : 1
    Format : HEVC
Format/Info : High Efficiency Video Coding
    Codec ID : V_MPEGH/ISO/HEVC
You need LAV Splitter (OR the standalone MKV Splitter from the MPC-BE package) ++ LAV Video or the Strongene Lentoid Decoder.

"Me too" recommends that you replace MPCStar with MPC-HC, MPC-BE, PotPlayer, or even JRiver Media Center.
