I have a large MKV file
I can't burn it to disk since NERO VIDEO 14 wont accept the file. Thought it might have been too long but that's not the issue.
Tried to convert the file using format factory ( returns err0000001).
The file plays in VLC player but if I try to convert it to another format VLC player fails---as in just quits and crashes.
Tried to 'repair' the MKV file by using Meteorite.exe. It creates a new file that has the same failure modes.
Have split the 3plus hour MKV into 2 and repeated all above without any change.

Can I perhaps save/convert the file that VLC player plays and capture the result that way?

    Any other Ideas?

  2. You have file with codec HEVC (H.265) , relative new codec and not compatible with old software
VLC really bad for converting files
Convert file with Handbrake or Vidcoder
