i have used already this site sir,
when i have picked a damaged file, result was no media found...
 plz help me if possible
-
	plz Mr. Baldrick

give me some suggestion.. im tired to search software from google
-
Where did these damaged files come from. Computer? Flash drive? Camera?

Has the device been used (written to) since the files were deleted?
For example, if these files were on your c: drive and you continued to use this PC as
normal, they've almost certainly been overwritten, at least once.
Being deleted is not the same as being over written. When the files are first deleted, the space where they were
is marked as free, but still physically contains the data - at least until the operating system/disk reuses the space
 since it's marked as free.

Some recovery tools may recover the data and some may not. You can try more than once (by trying to recover to another disk or
partition ) as long as the disk clusters are not over written as described above.

these mp4 file were not on c drive, these were on E drive.. i have recovered... some of videos are playable but some are corrupted, i have used many of software to repair them but could not success. now im disappointed, and thinking that adobe community should make a software of repair mp4 like after effects, definitely there are no any software that could repair mp4 file

There is likely nothing to repair. It's not uncommon for data recovery software to "restore" false files (ie: files that contain no useful information).

Try opening the bad file(s) using MediaInfo and see if the proper file specs are visible (ie: run time, video codec, audio codec, etc.). If not, they are trash.Google is your Friend

It would help if you actually uploaded the video or provide the full link.

At present we have even less than you do to look at.

	Hello!

I also am having trouble with an mp4 video file. It is very, very important as I gave a technical presentation at an event and am required to hand this in for one of my classes. I cannot recreate the event with all the professionals present, but need it to pass, so this is a critical file.

Originally I was viewing the video from my memory card on my computer with a memory card reader. The sound and picture were perfect, but then when I tried to transfer it, I am told the file became corrupt. (Basically my computer wanted to reformat the memory card before I did anything else with it.) I've already spent money on trying to get it back. The store said it was successful, but when I came to pick it up, I still could not view the file. They said it was a "back up" which means it can still be considered successful but that doesn't mean I can view my file. Although now it is sitting on my desktop instead of the memory card. They told me to try these mp4 repair softwares, but no luck. I can't afford to spend any more money on this!

I noticed sometimes people on this site offer to help if the person in need is able to post the original file, but my file is 4 GB. Is there any way someone will be able to help me with it?
-
^^ If you spent money on a recovery from a store who said that the video was recovered when it was not then you have a recourse for a refund from the store.
-
I wish... I tried, but they said it was backed up now so they can still charge me.
-
Well 'expose' the charlatans. A few choice words in the right place will soon change their minds. Bad publicity is a sure way to achieve an apology and a refund.
-

They are full of shit. What is the point of restoring a file that you cannot use?

What they meant to say is that the recovery software that they used was unable to restore a working copy of the file. It's likely garbage and contains no useful data. Have them show or explain to you how you can use the "backup file". When he/they can't explain it, speak with a manager. I would then be getting a full refund.Google is your Friend
-
If this was for a grade, I would be scrambling and talking to the course instructor about ANOTHER alternative, since it is 99.99% likely that you have nothing usable.

Well I guess you are asking to be banned from the forum for blatantly opening new topics despite being told not to by the mods.

BTW There is NO video in that file.
-
Looking at it in a Hex editor, there is certainly some non-video data. Whether some of it *may* be video and whether any program can
find and extract it is the big question.

What device produced this video? Can you post another short, working, clip from the same device so we can compare.

I got something back from the video repair tool.
 https://www.videohelp.com/software/Video-Repair-Tool

The DEMO that's available apparently only restores 50%. You'll have to buy it if you
want to see what the full recovery looks like.

On the second file, it ran for two hours, but I couldn't see anything useful in it. Here they both are,
 take a look.
