Would Anyone out there know of any way of defeating the
Anti-Copy Protection (ACP) feature, which is present
when trying to dub (mainly the lastest) Pre-Recorded
VHS Video Movie Releases.
ie. if you try to dub an official movie released on
VHS movie format, the picture quality is reduced to the
point where the picture flickers and drops out every
10-15 seconds in the worst cases. It also happen when using pc to capture video from VCR. Does any one know how
to overcome this?? Is there a hardware device or software which
defeats\disables the ACP??
(PS : In case you are wondering, I am not trying to
start a piracy/bootleg business- I just wanna make
some backups)

video clarifyer.. or something like that.. they have them at best buy and circuit city.. they're like $40

Yeah that would probably work for you. My circuitcity doesnt carry the, anymore. And the MPAA is trying to squash them out. they are in thier minds,"tools of piracy". You may be able to find them online as well, maybe a little cheaper. Circuit city can be a little high at times.
