  1. I would like the capture program itself and takes charge of deinterlacing, cropping and encode for the video is not so heavy. In this way since then I have not lookin for other external programs to prepare the video.

Very easy. Just select another codec like X264.

Read both tutorials (Made by VH member, TheThrillness) :

    Progressive Capture

    Interlaced Capture

    Very useful

  6. What is the difference between "Progressive Capture" and "Interlaced Capture"?

I downloaded the Yua to encode the videos ... But I have used with videos recorded in TotalMedia 3.5 and the sounds I always offsets. The game is one of WiiWare (Adventure Island), even though I tried to change the settings, always came the sound outdated.

He would have to record with the AmaRecTV necessarily to run the encode in Yua? In that case, I do not know how encode videos previously recorded with TotalMedia 3.5

Thank you very much for everything.

  7. I've tried with AmaRecTV. I like the program a lot but I just CANT get deinterlacing to work. Tried with the different modes and top/bottom fields and it looks ok in the preview but the recorded videofile remains interlaced?

I tried with Open Source Broadcaster which is totally not meant for capturing Hi8 and VHS from a camcorder, in itself, but I feel it did a pretty good job. Using Yadif x2 and 50 FPS file I got nice a smooth video compressed with X264.

De-interlacing VHS and Hi8 during capture isn't recommended anyway. Most people de-interlace VHS and Hi8 captures after processing and editing or leave it as interlaced.

So one should just capture in loss less, interlaced, then throw it thru Handbrake or something afterwards?

Right now I'm encoding x264 video into x265 which basically means I might as well not had captured it deinterlaced and compressed, lol.

Capture in lossless and interlaced form. Correct defects in the capture in lossless and interlaced form. Edit the capture in lossless and interlaced form. Avoid compressing and de-interlacing until the end. Encode once, going from lossless to to the final compressed format if possible. (Ideally you would compress from lossless directly to HEVC.

I never deinterlace interlaced captures, but I'm pretty sure you can deinterlace with something other than HandBrake. Create your own thread and ask about how to go about deinterlacing and how to go from whatever lossless codec you are using to HEVC.
