    Built-in mic are horrible. But aren't they all?
    Spend a few hundred on a Rode or Sennheiser. Problem solved.

    @Lordsmurf, I'm surprised at you.

    Like cameras, camera mics (and their audio modules) span a wide range of quality levels. Witness reviews from the last 30 years of camcorders.

    This poll is just another of newpball's attempt to deflect, FUD, rile, and otherwise prop up his absurd remarks in other threads. I thought you would have seen through that. Notice there is no studied "depends on the camera" option.

    I've never come across one that didn't totally suck.
