For some reason I can not get MediaInfo to work on my computer, it will not load up at all on this machine. It works just fine on my other laptop that runs Windows 7 but not on the desktop that runs Windows 8.1. It will not even progress to the screen asking whether I want to install the program it just shows a loading icon for a brief moment and then nothing else happens. So I was wondering if there is something I'm doing wrong or if there is another program that will do basically the same thing as MediaInfo that I could try to run to get the information that I need.

Have you tried running the installer as admin? Right click on it and you should see that option.

Yeah I've tried that, I don't know if I just have a piece of crap computer or what but it's pretty new I've only had it a few months, but there are certain things it just won't let me do. I cannot even get the command prompt to open with administrative rights either and I've had problems with a few other programs in the past where it would do pretty much the same thing as it does with MediaInfo. It is very annoying and I don't know what else I can do. I've resorted to transferring the media to my laptop via a flash drive just to get the info I need but it would be so much better if I did not have to do that all the time.

  4. Try run portable version that not need to install
just extract from zip and run: for Windows 64bit version or 32bit version

If you don't know how to extract 7z file
    use 7zip or WinRar

Do you happen to be running "Avast" as your antivirus? If so, Avast has a built in "file system shield" and likes to hinder anyone installing programs. Avast>>>Settings>>>Active protection>>> And disable/postpone to install. I mention Avast, because I ran into this problem trying to install certain programs. If this doesn't help, I apologize as I have windows 7.
This film is presented in it's original 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The black bars at top and bottom are normal. (it's you that isn't normal)

YES!!!! I Love you man!! That works, and you are saving tons of time moving files between computers to run this program.
