Hi everyone. I hope someone can help me with this. I've had a philips webcam laying in my desk for a few years (dates back to vista). My daughter was doing a class project so I hooked it back up for her to use. I installed the latest drivers and the latest philips Vlounge software.

Everything was going great until we went to play back the several hours of video that she had recorded. When viewing still images, or viewing the video WITHOUT capturing everything is fine. However, when we go to playback the recorded video there is distortion like what is seen in the attached picture. I consider myself pretty computer savvy but this one has me stumped.

I am pretty sure it is an issue with either the codec or more specifically the Vlounge software. I have tried literally almost every kind of media player on the planet and playback is still the same.

I have tried an alternate capture program and that appears to solve the capture issue. What I need help with is to determine if there is any way I can salvage the video out of this or if she'll just have to record everything again.

To answer the predictable questions. My rig is a Biostar tf570 sli running an am2+ processor, 4Gb of ram, 4 220Gb WD Velociraptor drives, and an Nvidia 9400 GT graphics card. OS is Win 7 Home. I know it is not a corruption in windows as the installation is literally less than two days old. All drivers are up to date. The only additional software I've installed are hardware drivers, photoshop, chrome, and VLC.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Click image for larger version
