I believe it. The question is when.

Unfortunately it won't happen. AMD is way too far behind and can't afford the investment it takes to catch up.

True, but there is no reason AMD could not partner/merge with sources that have the money, either existing corporations or VC money.

AMD should never have bothered to acquire ATI instead should have found a way to buy/merge/join NVIDIA.

The current situation is bad for the market, competition is a good thing.

As long as we have producers getting away with selling intentionally crippled chips for a lower price we know something is sub optimum.
