Just curious, if I am streaming a video file with two audio streams, and am only using the first stream....
Video - 3500 kbps
Audio 1 - 250 kbps
Audio 2 - 500 kbps
Is it transmitting on my network as if I was streaming Video + Audio 1 = 3750kbps or as if I streaming Video + Audio 1 & 2 = 4250kbps?
All the streams are in the file.... this is confusing to me

If they are multiplexed together in a single container, then it's the sum of all 3 + overhead

If they are separate e.g. DASH, then it's the sum of the audio and video selected (both audio aren't streamed at the same time) + overhead

Ah that is very helpful thanks for the quick reply.

All my files are multiplexed .mp4, is there a tutorial on making DASH?

It depends on whether you're simply accessing network shares or using a streaming video server. The server may only stream the selected audio channel. I suspect the client can make a difference too. It might request all audio streams from the server so it can more easily switch seamlessly.
