    hey guys

i have a movie clip i imported into vegas.
im cutting it up to pieces and so i can leave a pause in between the video animation.
for example, 00:00:05 to 00:00:10 there is no animation on the original video, but i need that period to be 20 seconds
so i cut from 00:00:05 to 00:00:10 and copy that piece and pasted 3 copies so i get the 20 seconds.
    my problem is,
1 - passed the 00:00:10 the original video contains animation.
2 - i can't use copies like i did because i need to add a zoom effect to the first piece and have the subsequent copies maintain the zoom.

so my question is, i guess what's an easy way to do this,
    or,
how do i force the piece i sliced to not continuing playing the original video when i extend it?

  2. Slide the original video after 00:00:10 to the right so that it begins now at 00:00:25

The section from 00:00:05 to 00:00:25 will have the zoom effect (ie. Redo the original section from 00:00:05 - 00:00:10 , to extend it to 00:00:25 and apply the zoom effect) . If you have to, you can use a separate overlay track to "cover up" that period

the problem is that if i extend from the 00:00:10 to 00:00:25, the original video from 00:00:10 to 00:00:25 plays, and i want that period, from 00:00:10 to 00:00:25 to freeze frame at 00:00:10 while having it be extended until 00:00:25 (on vegas timeline) while i apply the zoom.
it is like when you have an original video that finishes at 00:01:00 and you extend it in the timeline. you can de-select the loop option so the video stops playing and you see a freeze frame. i want to do that but in the middle of the original video.

  4. Take a still frame screenshot at 00:00:10, overlay it and stretch it out to 00:00:25. Do the zoom on the screenshot section

In case anyone else needs a still in Vegas.

You can create a still in the preview window. Look around in there and you'll find it.

But don't forget to set the preview display to Full/Best.
