I don't seem to be able to create a DVD that will play on a player. I have created DVD's that will play on a computer, but my Mother doesn't have a computer and I want to be able to share photos w/ her. I have tried using the Windows media player tool and Picassa, but neither will create a DVD that will work. I have a Sony Blu-Ray player and a Sony DVD player, I have tried both w/ my created discs to no avail. I'm using blank Sony DVD-R for my work. Any ideas will be appreciated, Sam

Are you burning as DVD-Data or authoring a proper DVD-Video disc?

You need to ensure you are using a brand/type of media supported by the player. Sony hardware is very picky about the disc brand. It is often a matter of trial and error to find a brand of media that works with a given player. Try using a quality media such as Verbatim or Taio Yuden.

Some DVD players can display JPEG photos from CDs, although usually not DVDs. If you could provide the model number for your mother's DVD player, it might be possible to find out if it has this feature. If it does, a photo CD is one more option available to you.

DVD Slideshow GUI is a great program which allows you to use fun transitions and a soundtrack, but is more work than creating a simple photo CD.
