  1. I'm starting out on a project where I need volume streaming/webcasting of my own rtmp video stream to multiple recipients and I was hoping to get advice on a company that could do this. I think this is called webcasting...
anyway I'm on a shoe-string budget (of course), I don't need monthly 24 hour streaming and I don't need storage. I would only need to broadcast for 30 minutes once a week. I do have experience of delivering video myself using red5 server on a linux vps but I don't think a vps could cope with a possible surge in demand. Thanks for any advice

Why not use YouTube live streaming?

  3. thanks for your input but i'm not too sure about youtube/google. They're a big arrogant corporation that can and do pull the plug any time they choose, and they don't negotiate or discuss anything. I like doing business with humans.

They also reach millions of viewers and have quite a robust infrastructure. Not sure sure what you think you need to negotiate, but humans are available. At your price point, they're a damned good option. You may want to think this through again.

  5. tbh I was looking at youtube live as your post came in. I don't see any option to cater for a rtmp stream from me though. I see it's easy to go live with your webcam but I'm still looking.

  7. @smrpix I take it all back and thanks again for your advice. I've been experimenting all night with youtube live and I'm getting really good results, better than I expected. I suppose considering my budget youtube live is the way to go, at the very least it would help me get started (until they pull the plug lol)

  8. oops I spoke too soon. I've just read youtubes' conditions on live streaming and it doesn't allow ads. My project includes ads so that puts the kybosh on that. I'd appreciate any further advice on recommended streaming services....
