    Hi there,
Does anyone know the reason of having no audio with your captures
after loading footage from camera into computer?

    This is the case:
Filming interviews, using 2 wireless microphones
2 XLR Receivers connected to Sony NX70 videocamera
Headphones: split audio - mic1 on Left / mic2 on Right

Playback on camera: audio = recorded with video
Captures from camera into computer: = no audio!
Importing captures in PPro CS5: = Only video track No audio!

I'm puzzled what could be the reason , how to set up for recordings tomorrow?

    thx for you help!!

  2. First, if you're hearing the audio on playback in the camera it's there -- so no worries about that.

What mode are you shooting in and how are you capturing?

With XDCam you copy the whole card structure to your system and link PPro to that. Audio and Video are separate files that require the metadata from the card structure and the NLE to link together.

I'm assuming you have double checked that there is no audio in the computer file with MediaInfo? Sometimes an odd audio format can creep in and won't play back properly.

    And welcome to our forums.

With my NX5U units I seem to recall issues with LPCM audio when I imported into Premiere Pro CS6. I would not get audio playback. After I switched audio to AC3 then the problems went away. I took a look at your camera's specs and I only saw LPCM as the recording/playback option.

I would try what smrpix suggested first. I can't recall if I copied the entire card structure when I had the audio issues so maybe that will be all you need to do. Also, in Premiere, import the video via Media Browser so that spanned clips import properly. I don't know if CS5 handles spanned clips though because I did not have NX5Us when I used it.

For comparison I post MediaInfo from captures with same camera
on an earlier job, for which we used 'VGA' (maybe different settings?)
Sorry I have poor knowledge on this matter. I submit yr answers to my collegue, who will be editing the interviews we shot.
