    Title says it all. Does MakeMKV downgrade quality in the slightest? Or does it keep it raw/exact replica straight off the disc?

    Makemkv does no transcoding whatsoever. It just puts the audio and video streams into a matroska container and creates a .mkv file. There is no quality loss.

    These days it can convert some audio. DTS-HD to flac or PCM, I think. I'm not exactly sure what it can do as I haven't used it in quite a while myself.
