VirtualDub error opening ASF file

I get the following error in VirtualDub 1.3c when I try to open an ASF file for conversion.

ASF: parse error -- too many segments in packet at 2bb (2 expected)
packet size = f00, send time: 0:00

I get the same error when I try to convert WMV files.

Try using the ASFIndexerGUI. It worked for me. You can find it in the 'Tools' section. It fixes broken asf files so they work in VDUb.
