    hey guys
is there any cool lite tool where we can trim video, add an audio track and save them separately (or together), mainly without re-encoding?
i have avidemux and i love it, but now i need to place an audio file and adjust its position to the video, makes some cuts and save the audio file (need to trim the video also) without any re-encoding.
anyone know a tool for that?

  3. Not quite sure if I follow but if I take this

i need to place an audio file and adjust its position to the video, makes some cuts and save the audio file (need to trim the video also) without any re-encoding.
Mux the video and audio with MKVMergeGUI.
Adjust the audio position using shift in AviDemux.
Make the cuts and save video and audio (copy) to a MKV.
If you only need the audio de-mux it with MKVExtractGUI2.

ill take a look at MKVMergeGUI
but what im after is basically the timeline of adobe premiere, when you have the video file on a track, several audio tracks, all visible in a timeline, where you can move the play-head front and back and see the video / hear the audio, move the files along the timeline to adjust their position, make cuts (on the timeline) and then export both the video and audio, separately, without having to re-encode.
i checked aviutl but it seems fairly complex
something simpler and to the point would be great

  5. You will need to re-encode for that.

sounds a bit weird i have to re-encode.
in avidemux i can cut a portion of a video and save it without re-encoding it.
i can do the same with audio in any audio editor, right?
the only thing i'd need in a program where i can visual see the video and audio on a timeline and be able to adjust their position.
it sounds like i should be able to then make cuts to match the start of the audio and the start of the video and just save the portion id like without re-encoding, like i can do for video in avidemux and audio in any audio editor.
just i need the timeline feature.
or am i looking at this wrong?

I'm pretty sure you need an advanced/nle editor if you easily want to cut and trim both video and audio tracks. Like for example sony moviestudio or even windows moviemaker. I think moviestudio has a smart rendering so it shouldn't reconvert video if you output as same format.
