We users in Europe cannot get to this website/blog without a VPN running (TunnelBear in my case):
    http://photographyisnotacrime.com/

Is there anything that can be done on my end that can fix this problem? The guy who runs the site
has "people" that are supposed to be taking care of this for him but since they cannot replicate the
problem, it seems to be down the list of fixes.

Firefox is my weapon of choice.

'Europe' as in the bit on the other side of the channel ?

    Works fine from the UK.

Websites have to do IP checking in their code if they want to block certain countries. Otherwise it is your own service provider that is blocking the site like ours do for torrent sites or, lately, if you sign up, for adult content sites.

Since I recall another "Nordic" European person complaining about the same thing, is it safe to assume it's not OUR fault?

Who provides your DNS? Here in the US, some of our iSPs deliberately give their customers crippled DNS servers that are configured to not return, ahem, certain websites that may or may not involve people getting things they didn't pay for. Changing your DNS server either OpenDNS or Google's free ones is very easy to fix this specific problem. It's easy enough for you to try and as an IT professional, it's my personal advice that you'd be much better off always using the free DNS servers that either OpenDNS or Google provide all the time anyway, even if it doesn't happen to fix this specific problem.

I had no problems at all to access the site here in the US and I use OpenDNS as my DNS provider.

Thank you for the info. I'll check my Fritz Box settings....I think I've seen it in there somewhere.

Well...changing the DNS server at the "device" level (computer and iPod Touch) is not working....as I suspected....so I guess I have to do it in my Fritz Box.
