I just got this card and im trying to capture 1080i 60 fps i looked up on the website and it says it supports it. I also installed the latest drivers from the site. Im running windows 7 64 bit 8 gigs or ram and a amd phenom 2 x4 3.5 ghz also a gtx 470. I am able to capture everything else flawlessly at 60 fps but when i try 1080i it captures it in 30 and also in progressive for some reason. Im not really sure what the problem is i looked around and it seems like no one had a problem capturing 1080i i re installed everything multiple times running ccleaner afterwards so im not really sure what the problem is.

1080i means 29.97 or 25 fps interlaced, so you get 59.94 or 50 fields, not frames. If both fields of a frame are taken at the same point in time you end up with a so called progressive segmented frame (PsF), so it looks like 30p/25p with no interlacing.
Post a sample for more help. -
Oh ok i see now my old capture card capped 1080i at 60 fps. i just started using this one so when i started editing i thought my codecs were broken or my settings were screwed or something anyway many thanks

The max resolution is 1080i@29.97 (can force to 30).
Record using this and make a progressive file using QTGMC double script. Its will beatiful 1080p@59.94 or 60 archive.

Alright cool thanks for the help i just got confused cause i used to use a avermedia hd ezrecorder plus and it captured the 1080i files at 59.94 so i would just deinterlace from there. I didn't know that there wasn't a such thing as 1080i 60 fps so i guess that device just captured it that way. Ill try to deinterlace a few files when i get back home hopefully all is well.

For better experience try this method:
HDMI SPlitter (Optional)
Virtualdub to record
UT Video ULY2 codec mode (jagabo tip)
Disable Preview for NO FRAMES lost if your CPU hang (Optional)
Its give perfect file to use with any Deinterlaced method
YADIF:
Yadif(mode=1, order=1) - Its double framerate make a 59.94 or 60 fps.
Yadif(order=1) # original frame rate
QTGMC:
QTGMC( Preset="profile" ) # "Placebo", "Very Slow", "Slower", "Slow", "Medium", "Fast", "Faster", "Very Fast", "Super Fast", "Ultra Fast" & "Draft"
SelectEven() # Add this line to keep original frame rate, leave it out for smoother doubled frame rate

I see that but when i would check the media info from my files captured from the ezrecorder plus, it would say the framerate was 60 even though it may not have been that's what it would say i never had any problems so i just assumed. I didn't go looking around for help because i never had any problems deinterlacing them. I no longer have the device or i would post a sample so you could see what im talking about i may be able to find one. But anyway everything has been explained now so i should be good.

Before everybody recommends throwing their favorite deinterlacer at it, what are you actually trying to capture and what is the framerate and resolution of the source?

i have ezrecorder plus too, how you edit files? i try several sotware frame accurate and its difficult to handle it for them, videoredo, smart cutter,

Im capturing gameplay at 1080i since the card doesn't support 1080p. I pretty much figured it out now i had to stop using virtualdub and use amerc tv and everything is working fine now. I don't know why but amerec tv doesn't even give me psf type of files even though im using the same codecs they are interlaced now.

I use vegas pro 13 for just about everything if it's a basic cut i usually use avidemux or you can try video to video.
