  1. So the sample was directly from the DV AVI file? You can see that the glitch is an exact copy of an earlier part of the audio:

    You can also see a silent section just before the glitch. The silent section and the glitch add up to about the time of one video frame. That, along with the jumping video frame, implies that the ADVC 110 is having problems syncing to the source and substituted an earlier bit of audio.

    Fast forward the tape all the way to the end then rewind back to the beginning. That will smooth out the windings and reduce drag on the reels. The tape may play better after that.

    I'm not at all an upgrade junkie, but Xvid is outdated. And it was never an ideal format.
    H.264 is what you should be using.

  5. yes the PCM sample is from a DV AVI file, I just cut and saved wav and got the sample.
