Since a couple of years ago, I have been successfully using VLC-Player 2.X under Windows-XP-SP3 32-bit OS to playback older BDs by installing an additional libxxxx.dll file in the VLC-Player program folder. However, at that time it was impossible to playback BDs using BD+ and libbdplus development had only just started at that time. However, libbdplus has been released now and I have yet to get it to work even though my VLC-Player can continue to play older BDs.
I also have some confusion about the requirements of libbdplus. Apparently, libbdplus relies on the component libgcrypt which is a separate decryption engine that performs actual decryption. This is where it gets confusing. libgcrypt's binary for Windows appears to be a Gpg4win download. I'm not sure if this is the component that needs to be installed and if so, how this component can be found by libbdplus or there's a separate Windows binary to install. I'd be interested to hear from anyone that has some clarification on the libgcrypt component. Thanks.

Have you read http://www.labdv.com/aacs/advanced-users.php ? Or maybe it's old information. I just use anydvdhd.

Yes, I have previously reviewed and followed the information at the URL you supplied to attempt BD+ decoding. Prior to having come across the information there, the set up for VLC-Player with only AACS decoding is a well known procedure discussed many times on internet forums so that part was fairly easy to set up. But when libbdplus is involved the VLC player software becomes more complicated. Perhaps I should try that other you know which well known forum for this type of question.
