I have looked at the bitrate calculators. Call me stupid but I dont understand them at all. Would anybody want to help me please. Here is my wav file hardball AC3 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps 48KHz.wav. what is the min avrage and max? when I put 448 or 450 like the guide says to (round down 25). The guide says it should be between 160-224kbps. Mine is 448.
Thanks

448 is the bitrate of the Dobly Digital Soundtrack of your DVD. Remeber this contains 6 channels, your output will only contain 2 so we don't need to worry about having less bitrate, as long as you use good programs to convert. VCD requires a 224 kbps stereo or joint-stereo audio stream. SVCD can vary (i think its 32-320), most people use 128 - 224 depending on their preference.
Remember if your making (s)VCD you can't use this AC3 file, you HAVE to convert to mp2. I suggest using BeSweet. -
Thanks
but waha should I put as my min avrage and max for the bitrate in my CCE?
Aslo is it possable to make a surround sound rip? where can I find info on that.
Thanks -
OK, go to the bitrate calculator in the tools here. Enter 128 as the audio bitrate and but in the length of the movie. Use the min and max bitrates given in your encoder. Then go to doom9.org and download besweet and besweet GUI (you may have to click show all at the top of the audio tools section). Then go to the guides and read the guide on besweet (you may have to search around the SVCD guides section).
Besweet will do a surround downmix to two channels, but you MUST encode the resulting mp2 using tooLame's Stereo mode (NOT joint stereo). This will make more sense when you've read the guides.
