  1. I am making a dvd rip NTSE svcd. What is better one pass VBR or Mutipass (how many passes)? On the video tab do I change it to dar 16:9 or leave it at dar 4:3. Would you recomend changing any of the quality settings?
    Thanks

  2. I recomend reading all the guides here and at doom9.org first, cause unfortunately most of your answers are "it depends". But I'll be nice and have a go

One pass VBR is not going to be as good as multipass, but takes a lot less time. Number of passes is 3-5.

DAR 16:9 is for anamporhic widescreen SVCD's. Some players will play these back right (PowerDVD XP is one for the PC that does). Most people use 4:3 and letterbox it unless they own a widescreen TV.

Remove noise filter for a speed boost (use if source has lots of noise). Leave image priority as it is unless you get artifacts. Then move to complex if artifacts are in the moving people, and flat if they're in the background.
