poisondeathra and jagabo, many thanks! Now I can run the script, and it works just fine! I would never be able to get such a smooth solution without your help!

Just one more thing. I'm using MeGUI to run the Avisynth script. However, I'm not really satisfied with the quality of the encoded video. Please take a look at these two excerpts of the original video and the encoded video attached.

The encoded video has a lower quality, and one can even notice a pixelated/blurry image, comparing to the original. How should I proceed in MeGUI to get a quality closer to the original?

  2. This section has interlaced content - but you encoded progressive

Your options are to bob deinterlace , apply script and re-interlace. Or just keep it progressive . How are you going to be watching this?/ what is the final format goal ?

    The final format is DVD.

  4. If the final format is DVD, then you should keep it interlaced, and you shouldn't use megui - it cannot encode mpeg2 for DVD

Chances are, if there are more scenes with concert footage, that there will be a more mixtures of interlace and progressive (the first example you uploaded was 25p content)

So for DVD, you should keep it 25i (also called 50i , just different naming conventions). You can use hcenc for example, which accepts avs scripts and is a good mpeg2 encoder for DVD. Or, if you want avs2dvd which can use hcenc and author the DVD as well

  5. Yes, since the script for replacing the logo requires resizing the video veritically, it shouldn't be used directly on interlaced content.

The earlier samples were encoded interlaced but the frame content was progressive. So those could be treated as progressive.

This was the best I could get in Vegas Pro. http://files.videohelp.com/u/135518/Untitled.avi It's just a 10 second clip. I feathered the mask and it disappeared pretty much.
