I need an external Hard Drive for my Windows 8.1 computer

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite C55-b5270 and need an external HD as a media drive. Can someone recommend some? See computer stats below. I am planning to buy Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum. Any comments on that are also appreciated.

Since you have a USB 3.0 port, I would just pick up a WD Elements USB 3.0 external hard drive. I have a 1TB Elements drive and it works well with my laptop.
