    I just have a feeling this has been asked many times......Having just returned from holiday with 40 mins of HD video I down loaded it on to my computer and when trying to burn to DVD there was 12 gb of info on it and only 4.7 gb of space on a DVD-R.....HELP

    Are you trying to backup it?
    Convert to dvd-video?
    Or something else?

    And please give us the video details and total runtime.

    It doesn't matter how man GB you have. What's important is the total running time, since it will be reencoded. A single DVD-R is more than enough to accomodate 40 min of video in DVD-Video format. Use AVStoDVD or DVD Flick.
