  1. I have a studio dvd I'm not say which one. But I have tried every ripping/decrypting software out there and i can't copy it... It will play in dvd player but you need to agree to the terms before it will read the dvd.

If you try to open the dvd in finder to look at the file nothing is their. every ripping/decrypting software can see the files. it says no dvd loaded. I dont know what this CSS or AACS is but how do i rip this dvd.

  6. It will play on any dvd player. when it starts you have to read the terms and agree. once you agree you hear the dvd play start reading the disc. it will play fine but i have had no luck ripping it. even if i start it and then open a ripping /decrypting software it will say no dvd loaded.

The DVD specs have been rather well known for a while. There have been cases of files being in the wrong folders and I guess it could have an autoplay that installed some malware designed to screw up current rippers but if you're going to continue being vague we can't actually help you.

Is this disc animal porn or regular porn?

  9. I'm not trying to be vague. This is what's happening Its a DVD screener, big movie. I'll take the DVD out if the case and put it in my Mac. The DVD player starts up and starts to play. Then it's stops spinning the disk. And a screen pops up that has the terms on it that you need to agree to before you can continue. Once you agree the DVD drive starts up again and the movie starts.

Now I have tried MTR, Handbrake, anydvd beta and 20 others nothing can see the files. If you go to info the disc shows 6.6gb disc with no info.
If you open the DVD in Finder you can see video_ts folder but there is nothing in it.

If I try and load it into VLC. It crashes. Most dvd decrypting software I have tried can't see the files.

I can post screen shots later today.

  10. You should have said "Mac" in the first place. Far fewer tools and options available.

Also, while the guidelines for what you can legally rip may be somewhat ambiguous, screeners fall pretty well into the illegal category.

  11. You probably should not have agreed to the terms in the first place and just ran your ripper. In fact any form of autorun/autoplay should have been disabled in the OS.

    Why are you playing games?

Were there perhaps also terms not to tell anyone?

If you purchased or were given this DVD you can certainly make a backup whatever the terms tell you. However if this was loaned or rented or given for review, making a backup would likely be illegal.

"Screeners" are likely watermarked (individually) so if you cause a leak they know it was you.
