Hello...Here it is guys I have a Sony HD handy cam...I decided about a month ago to place it in my bedroom while I was at work...to see what wife was up to..cause I noticed she was erasing her text messages ....well I used a 32 GB SD memory card which was used got it out of a box of junk at a yard sale....well I formatted the card and filmed the at night...well the room was dark but I did leave hall light on next to bedroom in hopes of hearing and possibility of seeing what's up...seems some of SD card was corrupt...has a lot of different things going on during the night...I have used a few video editors and still can't get a clear of what's real or not...asked wife about it...she says I'm crazy and need to be put in a Looney bin...lol...well guys I work a lot just a ole country boy and never seen or heard things before...I know there is something going on just can't clear out the trash on footage...would like to know the truth...is there anyone who could advise me of what I should use or could maybe take footage and knows what they are doing so I can see if I have lost it or not...lol...thx

  4. If you couldn't afford afford a new SD card, how are you planning to pay for the lawyer?

  7. It sounds like you have cross-referenced video files. That kind of damage is nearly impossible to repair -- especially on a card of questionable provenance.

To put it more politely than before, this isn't really a technical problem, this is a problem of trust between you and your wife. What if the video comes up "clean?" What if it doesn't? Will that prove or disprove anything? Maybe you just filmed the wrong night. Maybe there's nothing to film.

Now, don't make a sucker out of me and post back in a little while that you found some miracle recovery software. (I hate it when Newpball is right )

I agree it does come down to trust....but when y hear and see things on video footage ...well I know some of is not real...but there are things that I see that are..no miracle software found unless you can point me in right direction..lol...if she did cheat well will see why and if that can be fixed ..not saying I been a angel years ago..but have behaved last few....but my issue is more of the footage she says I don't see that I know is there and isn't like the other things in the footage...hell ,maybe I am crazy after reading what I wrote...lol

This isn't some support group for suspicious husbands. You already stated your case. You need help with recovering footage from an SD card. Now just wait for someone to help.

    The general procedure is:

    1. Do NOTHING to the original SD card.
    2. Copy the data image to an ISO or similar file.
    3. Mount copies of the file and try various restoration/unerase tools (ISOBuster, Recuva, etc.)

But ultimately, I won't go into it further because I won't be party to this kind of approach.

I have the original saved to the internal memory on handy can...you think that if I use a new SD card to transfer it over it might be clearer? Also I'm trying to figure out this virtual dub thing...I only wanna see the first 12.5 min...is there a way someone could help me? Or wanna see if they can lighten it up?

The OP does sound legit. He keeps coming back to the topic of the video. Trolls generally want to create chaos, and they go off on tangents to accomplish that.

In this case, the OP has some video footage he would like looked at by others, because he's not really proficient in this. That seems plausible that he's not a troll.

I'm gonna look at his latest upload, and see what he's got.

If the original is on the internal memory just copy it to your computer with USB, no SD card necessary -- or am I missing something? What model is your handycam?
