And you made them the wrong aspect ratio then. You cropped to 1280x588 (which itself isn't a proper aspect ratio) and then just resized to 1280x720? A big mistake.
I fix my cropped videos made by VidCoder with RipBot264, to return them back to 1080 or 720 ...No quality lost either.
That's a silly thing to say since RipBot reencoded the video.

  2. The video look great.

I will run MediaInfo (view > tree ) on the original (with-logo on black-bar) before and after run it with RipBot (no-logo) & compare to understand what you say.

    I gonna leave VidCoder out.
    ...I will post tomorrow.

    P.S.
I know that AviSynth Script is the right way to go.
I will try to learn it.

  3. Update:

I run MediaInfo before & after (side by side).
The 1920x1080 or 1280x720 stay, but other #'s decrease, ending with a quality lost of around 10% to 15% mathematically speaking: after the video files are reencode with RipBot.

From all my videos (mp4); around 3% have logos on black-bars & maybe 2% have logos inside the active screen.
