This question cannot be answered just like that.

How long something takes is dependent on your own system, how long the movie is which you are ripping, which ripping tools you are using, which encoder you are using and to what you are ripping it to.

  3. Depends on your PC. I have a P3 866Mhz and it takes me an average of 6 hours.

  4. about 3 days

day 1 .... rip the dvd and audio
day 2 .... encode about 1/2 of the audio and video
chapter by chapter (15 chapters or so)
day 3 .... finish encoding the movie and burn to cd

  6. that amount of hard drive space left is under 2gig so i cannot do the whole movie at once only a few chapters at a time. so it takes a few days unfortunately

  7. Some of you people are doing this ass backwards, pardon my french... if done correctly, you can rip a DVD to VCD in 4-8 hours... this obviously depends on your system though, I have a celeron 667 overclocked to 1050 MHz, with 128MB PC133 SDRAM, a 12x Toshiba DVDRom, and 60B free space... I find that the software these days is so much better than before... there are only 2-4 steps these days, whereas a year ago, you had to go through about 8-10 steps ^_^
