Thanks

Stitching 4 1080p videos is not a problem.
But you would need a screensaver that actually can display a video.
Are there any? -
Aren't the fish tank screen savers videos? But he's asking to display all four videos at once. So that would be picture in picture effects. Or I don't understand his question.

ok how would I do one? I want it to look good and have some footage @1920X1080
-
Are you considering simply stitching these 4 1080p vids together to play them as a 4K vid ?
It does not exactly work like that.
Also, is that your current PC spec ? -
no I wanted 4 different videos going at once- I will abandon that
How can I make 1 video my screensaver? I have tried the methods found in the search and they are not helping.

But isn't that a 'yes' to my question. You want a screen showing....
Video1Video2
Video3Video4
Of course it is possible. Whether it is practical is a totally different matter.
Usually a screen-saver is a low-res image/animation designed to err um save your screen when there is no other activity. A Hi-Res vid is overkill.
And pls answer my Q. about your PC spec. The quoted one will have problems with 1080p. 4K would be a non-starter.
Edit: Just read your reply in the grave-digging 10 yr old thread. Ignore the request for your PC specs but you should still update your profile.Last edited by DB83; 4th Feb 2015 at 15:52.

A screen saver is an executable app the is resident and kicks in after a timer, providing full-screen quasi-random visuals. Usually those visuals are fireworks, fishtank, bouncy 3D objects, etc (most of which are generated & rendered in real-time). You can also have the app be essentially a "video player", but it has to be specifically designed to have little input (in the form of control panel data) and otherwise run looped & fullscreen (like kiosk mode).
It isn't hard to create a video-player screensaver, and I have owned one or 2 in years past, but they are hard to find for some reason, and have not been updated AFAIK.
I would think it wouldn't be to difficult to fork VLC or MPC-HC/BE or Mplayer to work as a screensaver, but again, AFAIK it hasn't yet been done.
As DB83 mentioned, 4k (or Quad-HD!) should be possible but not very practical ATM.

I checked this program:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/videosaver/
Picked a 4k video and tried it.
It seems to work fine under Windows 8.1.
Disclaimer: don't know that program at all, just an f.y.i -
Cool!
Thanks for that (though I have no current use for it).
